Leak
Detection Services
Geotect Limited was formed with
the sole aim of providing quality and cost effective geomembrane leak detection
surveys throughout the UK and Europe. Our staff have over eight years of
experience within the waste management sector and have surveyed over 1.5
million square metres
of placed geomembrane liner.
A Leak
Detection Survey is a
very sensitive technique that accurately locates leaks ingeomembrane liners in
landfills or other impoundments,
such as lagoons and ponds. Holes as small as 1mm are able to be located to
within an accuracy of a few centimetres.The basic
principle is very simple, an electric potential is applied between the medium
above and the medium below the liner such that current will only flow through
the leaks.
Electrical measurements are then made on the overlying medium to locate these
points of current flow.
